Owen was 4.5 when we had to foreclose on our home and file bankruptcy when Jeffery had back surgery that put him out of work for 6 months. What I hated the most about that process was we were going to have giveaway our dog that came from my husband’s sister, and one Owen loves so very much. Thankfully he sees his grandparents quite a bit that have dogs he adores just as much. That is why I was so excited to hear about the first ever GUND “Top Dog” contest is going on. I thought it was interesting that they are offering a grand prize of “the Boo treatment.” This is a limited edition GUND plush that looks just like the winning pup! I know Oj would love that and I can already hear him talking non stop about how cute the puppy is!
The “Top Dog” contest is inspired by the very popular “World’s Cutest Dog” Boo, a stuffed dog from GUND, and invites parents from around the country to submit photos of their beloved four-footed family members to the GUND facebook page. There are 4 great categories that you can enter your pet in (one or all of them):
- Most Beautiful Dog
- Ugliest Dog
- “Doganista”/Best Dressed Dog
- Dog that Most Resembles its Owners
Those are some great categories and how fun is the 
word “Doganista”? I can think of a few pets that would fit that category. As I said before the winning pup will have a GUND limited edition model made and become available in gift/toy stores in 2013. How fun would that be to say YOUR pup was made into a stuffed model! They’d be almost famous right? The contest runs from July 16 – August 15th, 2012. Winners will be chosen the week of August 20th, and then announced the week of August 27th. If you’re like me and addicted to Pinterest, you’ll be interested to hear that GUND will also be running the “Most Pinteresting Dog” Contest. Just post your entry on your Pinterest page using the tag @GUNDMostPinterestingDog and send the link to MostPinterestingDog@GUND.com. The “Most Pinteresting Dog” Contest winner will be selected based on the number of times the entry is liked on the GUND pinterest board. Pinterest winner will receive a selection of GUND products valued at $250 retail.
