Gifts that Never Fail

I think I say this every month but can you believe it’s almost the end of the month? But here we are saying it again … I can’t believe it’s almost February. This brings on Ground hog day, President’s day, and of course Valentine’s day. Which brings me to wondering have you thought about what YOU want for Valentine’s day? I’m not a big fan of this holiday but I’m not one to rain on anyone’s parade that does so I thought I’d talk about some interesting gift ideas.

When you’re thinking of gifts for her there are a lot of variations you could do. The cliched chocolates and flowers, or even jewelry. What I think is the best approach is to get something that is related to something she loves the most. Like our first Valentine’s day together, Jeffery went out and bought me a TON of frog Valentine’s Day themed stuffed animals and little knick knacks that I just love and still have to this day. It not only showed that he listened to me, but that he remembers the little things I enjoyed. That definitely meant a lot to me. Of course the flowers and chocolates would be nice, I mean if I wasn’t trying to lose weight or anything, but you will definitely get brownie points if you find her a special gift that is related to what she loves.

February is also important for me because there are a number of birthdays this month and deciding on the perfect birthday gifts is equally as hard now that I have Oj and he gets to get away with handmade items lol. So I’m thankful my mother is easy to buy for. She’s a flower lover and I know those are always a big hit. It helps there are some amazing bouquets available, though it is easy to make my own as well lol. Oj loves helping pick out the flowers and I use it as a learning experience to bulk up his flower knowledge.

Finally what about if you have anniversary gifts to buy? Well I’d have to say if their the one that is always cooking why not step in and cook up a meal? If you think you don’t know how there is NOTHING wrong with following recipes to a T …that’s how you learn right? I mean I get tired of cooking all the time … and this is probably why we eat out more than I care to admit (and NO take out or dinning out is NOT the same as letting someone else do the cooking). It would so awesome to just once have Jeffery tell me he’s taking care of dinner tonight. I’d be over the moon. But if that doesn’t work the suggestions of flowers, jewelry, and sweets mentioned above work just as well.

So there you have it. Some really good suggestions that really can be used for any special occasion you got coming up. Speaking of that what special days do YOU have this month?

I would love to have any of the suggested gifts, even if jewelry isn’t my thing I still appreciate what my husband has given me. ;) great suggestions.

While I always appreciate the gesture – flowers aren’t my fav gift….they always end up crispy in the vase with slimy water in the bottom. Ugh.
